Blog of L.V. Lane

If you enjoyed Prey, you will be pleased to know I've been busy working on the second book for Priya.

Pre-order will be available soon...Here is a little teaser :)

On parting ways with Margot, I round the corner…and collide with a moving wall.

All the air leaves my lungs, and I stagger backward a step before landing on my ass.

I look up, a long way up, where I lock eyes with Brook. Another equally impressive lad stands to his right, his older brother, Caden.

They are both Alphas, both being trained personally by Hawthorn, the stern captain of our household guard. Caden’s hair is a sun-kissed brown that curls where it meets his forehead and collar—Brook’s is a shade darker. They have even, pleasing features, and Margot isn’t the only young miss who turns beet-red if either lad so much as glances their way.

I’ve seen my mother's maid Giselle giving both of them the come-hither smirk…A scowl furrows my brow as I blink up at them. “What are pig farmers doing in this part of the castle?” I demand waspishly. They are no longer pig farmers, but they were once pig farmers, and Giselle's mischief earlier has put me in a poor mood.

Ignoring my question, Brook turns to his older brother for direction. “Should I help her up?”

Caden shakes his head. “Nah, haughty brat will dob us in for touching her prissy ass. I’m not getting a whipping because she can’t look where she’s going.”

“Good point,” Brook agrees.

Without further ado, they step around me and continue along the corridor, falling into a conversation about an upcoming patrol.

It was a big decision to take Predictive out of Kindle Unlimited and make it available through a wider number of stores. I'm delighted by the reception it's had from readers!

Thanks so much everyone who bought and enjoyed Predictive, and for helping to make this an international bestseller.

I'm happy to report that I will now be pulling Book 2 out of cold storage and getting it ready for publication!

What readers are saying

Possibly one of the best science fiction books I think I have ever read and I was raised on the H.G. Wells, Robert Heinlen, Issac Asimov and the rest. I have that least 60 years of reading under my belt so I feel that when I say this writer is great it's not to be dismissed. ~Amazon reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is among the top 10 books I’ve read this year of a hundred sci-fi and fantasy novels. ~Amazon reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would give this book ten stars if I could. The best I have read in 8 years. ~Amazon reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been astounded and humbled by Prey's reception, which was launched on the 1st of August. Writing in a fantasy setting felt a lot like I was going against the tide of popular books.

I had so much fun writing it . . . especially Nate and his pig-wrangling antics!

A huge thank you to all the wonderful readers for making this an international bestseller.

I'm already working on Book 2 in this series, which will follow the story of Priya. I've just hit the 50% mark in the draft, and the plot and characters are shaping up nicely.

There will be a few surprises along the way! I can't wait to share :)

What readers are saying

I absolutely loved this story. Couldn’t put it down. A fresh take in the omegaverse by adding the RH twist but this was so much more than that. Fantastic world building, witty dialogue and plenty of action. Throw in chemistry test might just melt your kindle and I was one happy reader! ~Amazon reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dark and delicious: As usual, L.V Lane absolutely delivers on this new RH omegaverse featuring 4 alphas (one of which is an alpha wolf shifter) and their stubborn omega prey. ~Amazon reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A hot and spicy read: The characters fit well together and have sizzling chemistry. The story flows well, it will keep you interested all the way through. ~Amazon reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

L.V. Lane created an amazing cast of alphas, starting with the dominant first alpha Silas and ending with my favorite half wolf shifter Nate whose antics kept me thoroughly entertained. ~Amazon reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Priya’s book (formerly known as Taken), has been renamed Prize. I have the cover done...but I’m sitting on it for a little bit ;)

The drafting has gone really well, and I’m up to 20k words. (I’m guessing about a third of the way through).

I’d like to add that I’m at 20k words, and no one has been spanked yet...or touched...not even a kiss! But it’s about to kick off now 😈

I love Priya so much, and I’m having fun with this book. One of my favorite things about this ‘Prey’ series is the freedom to use words like ‘wench’ and ‘lass’ in an authentic context. Poor Priya, a lifetime of ‘bratting’ is about to catch up with her.

Snippet ~ Hawthorn

“She is playing you,” I say reasonably. I fear Bram is not to be reasoned with. “She has no interest in Dawson. The only reason she humors the lad is because she knows how well it vexes you.”

Bram growls as he paces. He is a civilized Alpha mostly, but occasionally his inner darkness slips out.

To be fair to Bram, Priya’s antics vex us all. After the infamous incident at the ruins, she was sent off to her aunt—much to everyone’s relief.

Then she returned after some scandal with a stable lad that I still don’t have the full details on.
